Terra Breads is a Vancouver owned and operated, award-winning Bakery/Café. Our dedicated team of 200 people, many long-term, produce and sell artisan baking and fresh café products through our four busy Bakery/Cafes in Vancouver, and in grocery and specialty food stores, top restaurants and hotels.

The Role:
You will be responsible for preparing high quality café foods according to company recipes and FoodSafe procedures in our café kitchen. As Team Lead, you will be responsible for organizing, training and leading the activities of kitchen team while ensuring overall quality and efficiency of all café food products produced.
Prepared foods include:

  • Artisan sandwiches
  • Hand stretched pizzas
  • Organic salads
  • Slicing meat and cheese
  • Washing, chopping and roasting vegetables

 

The Candidate:

  • You have at least two years of working in a kitchen leadership role.
  • Good English communication skills including speaking and writing
  • Food Safe Certification Preferred
  • Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and meet physical demands of the positionShifts will provide up to 40 hours per week. Ability to work weekends is mandatory.

The Position:
The primary objective of the Retail Manager is to motivate and maintain a high performance team to provide superior customer service, kitchen production and drive sales. Key position responsibilities include:

  • Front of House Customer Service – Ensure high quality customer service
  • Back of House Kitchen production and cleaning
  • Team Leadership – Recruiting, scheduling, training and development of the front-of-house service team
  • Product Presentation – Assure product quality standards and appealing merchandising
  • Operations/Administration – Oversee and approve ordering of supplies as well as receiving and control of inventory
  • Facilities Maintenance – Ensure high standards of ambiance, housekeeping and maintenance
  • Community Building – Actively develop relationships within the community and participate in community and food events
  • Management Team – Participate collaboratively as part of the four location Retail Management Team

 

The Successful Candidate:
Individuals with solid hospitality/foodservice management experience and strong leadership skills are encouraged to apply.

The Position:
Mixing, shaping and baking of bread products. Specifically:

  • Prepares and follows bread production recipes, techniques and preparation procedures accurately to consistently produce top quality work which meets Terra Breads standards.
  • Practices SQF HACCP, Food Safe and Work Safe policies and procedures.
  • Full-time.
  • 8 hour shift between 4pm to 2am

The Successful Candidate:
You are physically able to:

  • stand and perform baking tasks for up to 5 hours at a time.
  • to lift and stack 20 kg flour bags up to a height of 180 cm.
  • to lift 15 kg tubs of dough to a height of 160 cm.

Qualifications:
You have at least 1 year of experience working in a baking environment or you are a graduate of a certified baking program; and you are familiar with all bakery equipment. You work in an efficient and organized manner, with minimal supervision. You like working in a fast-paced environment and have good communication skills. Foodsafe certification is a plus.

The Position:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing individual as our retail route driver and customer service representative. Driving experience, good communication skills, a professional manner and great customer service are necessary to succeed in this role.

Flexible driver able to work 2 shifts: 3am-11am and 8am-4pm

The shifts will provide between 30 and 40 hours work per week.

Ability to work weekends is required.
