Terra Breads is a Vancouver owned and operated, award-winning Bakery/Café leader in innovative artisan baking and fresh café products. We have a dedicated team of 200 people, many long-term, producing and selling through our own 4 busy Bakery/Cafes in Vancouver, and in grocery and specialty food stores, top restaurants and hotels.

THE ROLE:

As part of an innovative, positive and collaborative team, you will provide human resources services and support. Specifically:

  • Recruitment: source high-performance candidates
  • Performance Management: work with managers to provide feedback to employees in a manner consistent with our values
  • Compensation: keep us competitive and ensure high-performance employees are recognized
  • Payroll and Benefits: provide back-up administration
  • Onboarding: ensure new employees feel welcome and informed
  • Succession Planning and Training: work with managers to help employees attain their fullest potential and manage talent for future growth
  • Employee Relations: provide information and guidance to employees and managers consistent with our values and in line with Human Resources Best Practices
  • Compliance: ensure we meet legislation and uphold company policies

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

Ideally you have been a sole HR practitioner in a manufacturing and/or retail organization and bring:

  • Education: Post-secondary, preferably with a focus in Human Resources. CHRP Designation an asset
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist
  • Strong HRIS and payroll software, Microsoft Office skills
  • Full-cycle payroll experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation
  • Knowledge of compensation analysis and salary administration
  • Excellent employee relations skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Ability to work with a senior management team to implement policies and ensure compliance
